Commercial Floor Coatings for McKinney's New Corporate Hangars
Hangar floor space at McKinney National Airport is growing faster than it is aging. The city- owned field logged about 400 operations a day in 2023, with 20 to 30 corporate aircraft a day using its FBO. A 40,000 sq ft hangar opened in 2019, sized for up to four Gulfstream G550s with eight enclosed car garages alongside. A west-side corporate hangar was finished in 2025, and a 68,506 sq ft hangar near Wattley Way is registered with the state for construction from February 2026 to March 2027. These are young slabs. Prep on them is about the concrete's age, since there are no decades of stains or failing coatings to remove.
Business jets load a floor in particular ways. Heavy tires turn in place, tow tugs pull along the same path every day, and jet fuel and hydraulic fluid drip under parked aircraft. The topcoat gets chosen for that combination. Parking lines and a bright finish are worth raising at the site walk.
Timing works in a McKinney owner's favor. Between a finished slab and the first tenant, a hangar under construction sits empty, and nobody has to tow an aircraft out of the way for the install. If your hangar is due in 2026 or 2027, talk to us before the move-in date is fixed.
US-75 carries our crews 24.3 miles from the shop to McKinney City Hall, about 43 minutes at rush hour. A floor of 40,000 to 68,500 sq ft takes several days, so that drive repeats on every coat day and is built into the schedule from the first draft.
