Since 2018, Classic Concrete Coatings has worked out of a shop on North Shiloh Road in Garland, the city directly above Mesquite on the map. Owner Nick Brown has spent nearly nine years with these coating systems. The installers who arrive at a Mesquite address are our own in-house installers, trained in-house, and no part of the job goes to a subcontractor.
For homes, we install one system: a polyurea base coat, a full broadcast of color flake and a clear polyaspartic topcoat, laid over the concrete you already have. Most residential installs take one day. People usually call us for two reasons at once. They want a garage that looks finished and matches the house, and they are tired of looking at cracks, stains and small holes in the slab.
Most of Mesquite lies in Dallas County, and a portion reaches east into Kaufman County. Its houses run from post-war streets through a big 1980s building wave to Solterra, where new homes are still going up around a 30-acre lake. Creek Crossing Estates and Falcon's Lair are two of the established neighborhoods between them.
Census housing data puts more Mesquite homes in the 1980s than in any other decade, and most of the city was built between the 1970s and the 1990s. On a slab that age, Nick looks for oil stains, old sealer or paint, and cracks someone patched years ago. Prep comes before color on these floors: grinding, crack prep and stain treatment, then the base coat.

New Garages in Solterra
Solterra, the Huffines Communities development, is planned for about 3,900 homes plus townhomes from 13 builders. A brand-new garage floor is the easiest kind to coat, with no oil soaked in yet. Coating early skips the stain work an older slab needs. Should Solterra's association want to review a visible change, we can hand you product and color information to attach.
03
Clay Under the Dallas County Side
The Dallas County soil survey rates the county's Houston Black-Heiden clays very high for shrink-swell, and most of Mesquite lies in that county. Clay like that can shift a slab. That is one reason the first layer is polyurea; by Nick's account it flexes about four times as much as epoxy. The survey does not cover the Kaufman County part of the city, so Nick judges those slabs in person.

A Short Run Down I-635
Our crews reach central Mesquite by I-635 South, about 12 miles from the shop. On a weekday afternoon that trip took about 29 minutes, and morning departures usually run quicker. A short drive means install day starts on time, and a crew can get back out without a long trip if a detail needs a second look.
Mesquite is about 29 minutes from our Garland shop outside rush hour. Daytime traffic takes longer. We confirm your address and current appointment options rather than promising an unverified arrival or lead time.

Yes, our crews take jobs across Mesquite, and the city starts right where Garland ends. Our shop is on North Shiloh Road in Garland, and City Hall was about 29 minutes away by I-635 on a weekday afternoon. Before coating a garage in Mesquite, what should a homeowner know?
Start with the age of your slab, because Mesquite homes range from post-war builds to Solterra houses finished this decade. An older floor usually needs more prep work, while a new one mainly needs enough cure time before it is coated. The residential system is the same either way: polyurea base, color flake and a polyaspartic topcoat. Ask Nick about your floor at a free visit, or phone (214) 550-9809.
Which garage floor problems come up in Mesquite homes?
On Mesquite floors we check first for cracks, oil and rust stains, small holes, and old paint or sealer that has started peeling. Much of the city was built from the 1970s through the 1990s, so many slabs have had time to collect all of those. The area also sits on North Texas clay, and the February 2021 freeze held DFW at or below freezing for 139 hours. Call (214) 550-9809 to have your slab looked at during a free visit.
How can I tell a coating company actually works in Mesquite?
Choose the company whose crew is close and who can show you the paperwork. Classic's shop is in Garland, next to Mesquite, and we use a small team of in-house installers, with no subcontractors. Ask for proof of insurance; we carry $1 million in general liability. Ask to see the warranty in writing; ours is a 15-year written warranty on residential coatings. Start with a free in-home estimate or call (214) 550-9809.
Is warranty support available in Mesquite?
Qualifying residential flake systems include a 15-year written warranty, supported by our Garland-based company. The project paperwork explains exact coverage and exclusions. Ask Nick about the particular garage, outdoor area or detached building you want coated rather than assuming all systems have identical terms. Call (214) 550-9809 to discuss your project.
