Built for North Texas
An uncovered patio in North Texas takes direct sun most of the year, then a hard rain, then sun again. Bare concrete soaks up water and whatever sits in it: grill grease, rust rings and old leaves. Stains set, the surface turns chalky, and hairline cracks open as the slab heats and cools. Paint and roll-on coatings tend to peel or fade within a few seasons, and it is easier to coat before stains go deep or a failed coating has to come off.
The complete system
A patio coating from Classic uses the same polyurea base we put on garage floors, finished with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat chosen for full sun. Epoxy yellows and fades in direct sunlight; a polyaspartic topcoat holds its color. Most patios are coated in one day by our own in-house crew.
Prep starts with a thorough grind, edges included. The crew then repairs cracks and uneven areas so the coating bonds to sound, level concrete.
The polyurea base bonds to the concrete and flexes as the slab swings between a hot Texas afternoon and a cool night.
Colors and finishes are picked to sit well beside the house, brick, stone and outdoor furniture. Nick brings samples so you can see them on the actual slab in daylight.
The clear topcoat does not yellow or fade in full sun. It leaves a semi-smooth finish with slip-resistant options, and spills and leaves wipe or hose off.
When both are on the quote, the same crew usually coats the garage and patio on one visit, with one cleanup at the end.
Most patios take one day. The crew walks the finished patio with you, then plan on 48 hours before the furniture goes back.

Why trust DFW Classic
Most outdoor coatings fail at the topcoat. Ours is a UV-stable polyaspartic made to hold its color.
The finish is semi-smooth with slip-resistant options, so it cleans easily without turning slick under bare feet.
Nick lays samples on your slab during the visit, so you choose in the light the patio really gets.
Both are often finished the same day by the same crew: one quote, one install date.
A peeling coat is taken back to sound concrete before anything new goes on.
Fast and easy
Either Nick or Jeff confirms the day before, measures the patio, checks cracks and old coatings, lays out samples and writes the quote.
Move furniture, grills and planters before install day. A reminder text arrives the day before the crew.
The crew grinds the concrete and repairs cracks and uneven spots.
Polyurea base, then your color, then the UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. The crew inspects the finish with you.
Give the coating 48 hours before furniture goes back and the grill fires up.
Straightforward pricing
Patio coating is quoted after Nick sees the slab, and the quote is free. A small covered patio and a large entertaining area with steps are very different jobs, so you get one written price at the visit before anything is scheduled.
The main factors are square footage, slab condition, and any old coating, paint or sealer that has to come off. Steps, edges and curves take more hand work. Driveways are never part of a patio quote because we don't coat driveways. No hourly billing, and no charge for the visit.

A patio coating usually takes one day to install, then 48 hours to cure before you use it. Size, condition and prep change the install time, and Nick gives you the schedule at the quote.
A patio coating is priced after a free visit. Square footage, condition, steps and edges, and old coating removal set the price. Nick writes the number down, and nothing is scheduled until you say yes.
Stains that won't wash out, chalky dust on your feet, cracks that open each summer, or a coating peeling in sheets are clear signs. If the concrete is sound, a coating is an upgrade rather than a fix.
Install day is a single visit, but there is a wait to get on the schedule. Spring and early summer fill fastest. Have an event coming up? Mention it when you call.
It does not have to be. The coating finishes semi-smooth, and slip-resistant options are available for areas that get wet often.
No. The UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat does not yellow or fade the way epoxy does in direct sun. Darker colors absorb more heat, which is worth weighing on an unshaded slab.
It depends on the surface, and Nick checks it at the quote. Plain or broom-finished concrete is the straightforward case; other surfaces may need extra prep, and pavers are a different material.
Most dirt hoses off, and spills wipe up instead of soaking in. A broom and garden hose handle leaves and pollen; a mild cleaner handles grease near the grill.
