Patio Coating on McLendon-Chisholm Slabs Plumbed for Gas
One 2022 listing in Sonoma Verde Phase 4B, a Highland Homes neighborhood inside McLendon-Chisholm, describes a covered patio with plenty of room for seating that is plumbed for gas for an outdoor kitchen. The concrete is only a few years old. The kitchen, though, exists only as a pipe. So the coating has to be planned around a gas stub-out on or beside the slab and an island that may arrive later.
The stub-out is the work item. The crew masks it and keeps it reachable, so the kitchen builder can still connect to it later. You also choose where the coating stops: under the future island footprint, or at its outline, leaving the island to sit on bare concrete. If you already know the island's size and spot, Nick marks it with you during the walkthrough.
Timing follows from that choice. When the kitchen is coming soon, the patio can be coated after the kitchen contractor finishes, or before, with the footprint left uncoated. Nick asks which plan you have and schedules around it rather than guessing. Running gas lines and setting the island belong to the kitchen contractor, not to us, and we leave the stub-out exactly as we found it.
The drive is a fixed quantity: Garland to McLendon-Chisholm City Hall on FM 550 runs about 33 minutes by TX-66 and SH 205 when traffic is light, so a longer prep day does not mean a longer trip.
