Why a Heartland Epoxy Search Ends Up on a Garage Floor
Heartland is still filling in. This Kaufman County community, unincorporated and master-planned, sits on the south side of I-20 at FM 741; phases 24 and 25 were finished by June 2024, with 579 more lots starting. The developer lists eleven current builders. Coventry builds on 40- and 50-foot lots, Chesmar on its 40s and 60s series, and Bloomfield's Classic 60 and 70 on wider ones, and every plan we checked has a two-car attached garage.
Two cars of space does not mean one garage size. Builders draw their own plans, and a two-car garage on a 40-foot lot need not match one on a 70-foot lot in depth, width or door layout. Nick therefore measures the garage you actually have instead of pricing from a plan name, and neighbors with different builders can receive different numbers.
Whichever builder poured it, the floor gets polyurea rather than epoxy, since Classic saves epoxy for commercial rooms. In a Heartland garage that means a polyurea base coat, color flake scattered until no bare gray shows, and a polyaspartic clear coat that keeps its color under afternoon sun through an open door. A garage in a phase that closed recently may need its slab to cure before any of that goes down.
Our Garland shop is 27.9 miles from Lake Trail Drive by I-635 and I-20, and the drive took about 32 minutes with light traffic; daytime runs longer. Most of our jobs land in Dallas, Collin, Denton and Rockwall counties, so a Kaufman County visit like this one is planned ahead.
