Garage Floor Coatings for Detached University Park Garages
Three of the city's older additions set the pattern: Loma Linda, built mostly across the 1920s and 1930s, Idlewild, a late-1930s cottage district, and Potomac Park, which reached into the early 1940s. On lots from that era the garage often stands on its own at the rear of the property. A 1940 Bryn Mawr Dr listing in Idlewild shows one, later expanded with an apartment in 2018. Slabs inside buildings like these are eighty years old or more, so the prep plan assumes grinding through stains, opening and filling cracks, and taking out patches.
Behind the originals are the rebuilds. Smaller houses have been replaced by larger ones since the 1970s, and in University Highlands the replacements approach 5,000 square feet. Each rebuild pours a fresh garage slab. That concrete needs no stain work at all, but it does need to cure before anything goes on it.
Rebuilt or original, rear parking is common. On Granada Ave, a house rebuilt in 1992 still parks two cars in a garage opening onto the alley. For a back-of-lot or rear garage, the crew works out trailer parking and the route for the grinder before install day.
Our trucks reach City Hall from Garland in roughly half an hour, a run of 10.6 to 13.6 miles depending on whether Skillman St or US-75 South is moving.
