Hangar Epoxy Flooring Work in Southwest Dallas
Two new hangar floors sit next to each other on Boulder Drive at Dallas Executive Airport, the field the City of Dallas owns and runs in the southwest part of the city. One building is a 32,000 sq ft hangar filed for maintenance of executive aircraft. Its neighbor is a 28,000 sq ft hangar filed for storing them. Each has 8,000 sq ft of office attached, and both went up between late 2022 and the end of 2023 inside an 80,000 sq ft complex for fixed-base and maintenance operations.
Those floors do different work, so they should not get the same epoxy build by default. In the maintenance hangar, jacks stand on the slab during inspections, tool carts roll all day, and hydraulic fluid and fuel drip where panels come off. The storage hangar mostly sees a tug pulling aircraft in and out and tires resting in one place between flights. The maintenance floor is where a chemical-resistant topcoat earns its cost.
On the airport's west side, a 43,000 sq ft corporate-jet service center moved in around 2020 under a city public-private hangar project. A floor that has carried several years of maintenance traffic turns the job into a recoat, so any existing coating and soaked-in fluid get checked before epoxy is priced.
Floors of 28,000 and 32,000 sq ft are multi-day installs. The crew drives out from Garland on each working day, and the schedule is fixed before the first area closes.
