Where Epoxy Flooring Fits in Forney Distribution Buildings
Forney's largest floors are in Gateway, the industrial district south of US 80. State construction filings list a 1.2-million-square-foot build-to-suit tilt-wall distribution facility at US 80 and Gateway Boulevard, with shell and tenant improvements between 2019 and 2020, and a 621,874-square-foot tilt-wall warehouse on South Gateway Boulevard finished in early 2022. The Forney EDC counts more than 500 acres of planned industrial land in the area.
Buildings like these keep changing on the inside after the shell is done. In 2022 the South Gateway warehouse took a 3,220-square-foot office build-out. A building on Sage Hill Parkway is adding a 4,289-square-foot office and break room, along with warehouse improvements, between February and June 2026. Each project adds rooms with floors of their own, small against the building around them.
Those rooms are where epoxy earns its place at this scale. A break room or support space takes spilled drinks, mop water and steady foot traffic, and a sealed epoxy floor under a heavier topcoat wipes clean. The main warehouse slab is a separate decision, driven by racking, forklifts and sheer area, and we do not assume it should carry the same system.
From our Garland shop it is 19.6 miles to Forney City Hall on Pinson Road, roughly 25 minutes by US-80 when traffic is light, and weekday peaks add to that. Most of our work is in Dallas, Collin, Denton and Rockwall counties, so a Forney job is booked as a planned trip rather than squeezed between nearby calls.
