Newer Mesquite logistics buildings, like those planned at Alcott Logistics Station, sit on fresh concrete that must cure and pass a moisture check before epoxy.

Mesquite lists 17 business and industrial parks, and a good share of its industrial floor space is new. The Mesquite Airport Logistics Center, about 2 million square feet beside the city's Metro Airport, had its first phase targeted for 2022, and Alcott Logistics Station is planned at about 1.5 million square feet. That adds up to a lot of fresh concrete. A new slab has no oil or old coating to remove, but it still holds water from the pour, and epoxy laid over a slab that is too young or too damp can lose its bond.
The order of work therefore matters more than it would on an older floor. The slab has to reach its minimum age and pass a moisture check before the epoxy is scheduled, and that wait belongs in the tenant-finish timeline from the start. Fitting out a new suite here? Send us the pour date early, because it is far easier to plan around cure time than to sit waiting on it at the end.
Buildings this size carry very large floors, and a big new warehouse floor runs over several days rather than one. The shop is about 29 minutes away by I-635 South, which keeps those back-to- back install days from piling up travel time.
Census housing data puts more Mesquite homes in the 1980s than in any other decade, and most of the city was built between the 1970s and the 1990s. On a slab that age, Nick looks for oil stains, old sealer or paint, and cracks someone patched years ago. Prep comes before color on these floors: grinding, crack prep and stain treatment, then the base coat.

New Garages in Solterra
Solterra, the Huffines Communities development, is planned for about 3,900 homes plus townhomes from 13 builders. A brand-new garage floor is the easiest kind to coat, with no oil soaked in yet. Coating early skips the stain work an older slab needs. Should Solterra's association want to review a visible change, we can hand you product and color information to attach.
03
Clay Under the Dallas County Side
The Dallas County soil survey rates the county's Houston Black-Heiden clays very high for shrink-swell, and most of Mesquite lies in that county. Clay like that can shift a slab. That is one reason the first layer is polyurea; by Nick's account it flexes about four times as much as epoxy. The survey does not cover the Kaufman County part of the city, so Nick judges those slabs in person.

A Short Run Down I-635
Our crews reach central Mesquite by I-635 South, about 12 miles from the shop. On a weekday afternoon that trip took about 29 minutes, and morning departures usually run quicker. A short drive means install day starts on time, and a crew can get back out without a long trip if a detail needs a second look.

How old does a new Mesquite slab need to be for epoxy?
A new Mesquite slab has to reach a minimum age and pass a moisture check before epoxy goes on it. Concrete keeps releasing water for a while after the pour, and coating it too soon can cause the epoxy to lose its bond. Give us the pour date during your fit-out and we will plan the install around it. Planning questions go to (214) 550-9809.
Do you test new concrete for moisture first?
Moisture is checked before any epoxy is scheduled on a new Mesquite floor. The reading tells us whether the slab can be coated now or needs more time, and that answer goes into your written schedule. If the building opens on a fixed date, raise it at the very first call so the check happens early enough to matter. Reach the office at (214) 550-9809.
What will epoxy cost on a new Mesquite warehouse floor?
Epoxy on a new Mesquite warehouse floor is priced in writing after a free site walk, and square footage usually drives most of it, because a fresh slab needs little stain or coating removal. The topcoat, dock- area texture, striping and the number of install days make up the rest. Travel from our shop is not billed, and the figure is fixed before you book. A site walk at your building starts at (214) 550-9809.
How many days does a large Mesquite epoxy floor take?
A large Mesquite floor takes several consecutive days rather than one, and the exact count depends on square footage, the topcoat and cure time between coats. We plan the epoxy in sections so the order is agreed before the crew arrives, and your written schedule shows when each area can take racking and forklifts. To map out the install days around your opening, phone (214) 550-9809.
Do your epoxy crews reach every part of Mesquite?
Yes. Mesquite City Hall on N Galloway Ave is roughly a 29-minute run down I-635 South from the Classic shop, and we take epoxy work across the business and industrial parks, including the airport-side logistics buildings and the part of the city that extends into Kaufman County. Site walks are set on weekdays. Use the form above or ring (214) 550-9809 to book a time that works for your project manager.
What should a Mesquite tenant or builder know before scheduling epoxy?
Know the pour date and the move-in date, because on new Mesquite concrete the gap between them decides when epoxy can go down. Then gather what the floor will carry, such as forklifts, pallet jacks or only foot traffic, and where water or chemicals tend to end up. From those, we pick the topcoat and where texture goes. Bring them to the site walk, or start the conversation at (214) 550-9809.
Can you put epoxy in my Mesquite home garage?
We do not put epoxy in home garages; Mesquite houses get our polyurea flake floor. Most homes in the city date from the 1970s to the 1990s, so those slabs usually carry oil, old sealer or patched cracks that are ground out first. Over that goes a polyurea base, chosen because Nick finds it far more forgiving than epoxy when clay moves a slab, then flake and a clear polyaspartic topcoat. Our Mesquite garage page has more, or dial (214) 550-9809.
